Mihai Moiceanu - Photographer, Videographer, Author
Mihai Moiceanu accidentally discovered photography at the age of 16, and fell in love with it.
After graduating from university, photography and film attracted him so he attended a school of photography and film art. Petre Sirin, director, image teacher and Mihai Moiceanu's mentor says about him:
Since 1986 he became a full time professional photographer.
For 8 years, between 1992 and 1999, he worked in television, he was a producer in the main television station in Romania, ProTV. The period spent in this environment consolidates his vision about documentary and adventure film.
Since 1999 he returns to the career of independent photographer, having important clients in the area of commercial photography.
For 8 years he was freelance columnist at Chip Foto Video, the leader in the photo magazine market in Romania. He wrote monthly about the photographic topics he was attracted to: the story of a photo, skills he shared, places he visited, techniques he uses, about how he sees photography today. . During this period he published the photography album "Brasov - an exercise in looking" and a book of photographic tips entitled "10 photographic destinations in Romania“.
Mihai has been published in many general or specialized magazines, printed or web edition: Photomagazine, Discovery, National Geographic Traveler, Reader’s Digest, hotnews.ro, foto-magazin.ro, etc.
Since 2005 he leads the first photography workshops in the country, in which he approaches landscape photography, portert, traditions and daily life in the Bran area. The participants appreciate the pedagogical style and the professionalism with which Mihai shares his photo experience as a way of knowledge and artistic expression.
Starting with 2007 he leads phototours in Romania - Transylvania, Maramures, Bucovina, Danube Delta, Carpathian Mountains. He leads both groups of Romanian photographers and photographers from all over the world interested in knowing Romania and its most spectacular and photogenic areas.
Since 2007 he organizes and leads PhotoTOURs worldwide: Himalayas, Patagonia, Tibet, Dolomites, Chamonix - Mont Blanc, Zermatt - Matterhorn, Vietnam, Nepal, USA, Alaska, Peru, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, France. The desire to know the world is shared with those who go with him in the most iconic photographic destinations around the world.
Over the years he has had personal and group exhibitions opened in the big cities in the country - Brasov, Cluj, Sibiu, Tg. Mures, Iasi, Bucharest, Craiova, but also in Europe in Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Limassol, Toulouse, Gallway, Rome, Rabat, Cork, Nicosia.
In the recent years, Mihai has a comeback in cinematography producing and directing a series of movies about Eco-Tourism in Romania, as well as other short productions about Nature.
