Mihai Moiceanu - Photographer, Videographer, Author

Mihai Moiceanu accidentally discovered photography at the age of 16, and fell in love with it.

After graduating from university, photography and film attracted him so he attended a school of photography and film art. Petre Sirin, director, image teacher and Mihai Moiceanu's mentor says about him:

It is amazing the ease with which Mihai finds the frames and assembles them in a natural temporal development. His stories are always eloquent and attractive through the plasticity of the proposed image.

A good travel photographer is always on his way and Mihai Moiceanu is a great traveler. Romania from his photos is Romania from his soul. In his compositions with the light - in which he gathered through decades of experience - you will find the wonders of places that are at our handy, but still so far away.

Mihai has been published in many general or specialized magazines, printed or web edition: Photomagazine, Discovery, National Geographic Traveler, Reader’s Digest, hotnews.ro, foto-magazin.ro, etc.

Mihai Moiceanu did not win the grand prize in the lottery and was not miraculously saved from any catastrophe. However, he is one of the luckiest people I have ever met. Mihai’s story is simple and clear, as is his huge healthy laugh. A story that can be read, but also watched.
— Vlad Mixich - hotnews.ro

Since 2005 he leads the first photography workshops in the country, in which he approaches landscape photography, portert, traditions and daily life in the Bran area. The participants appreciate the pedagogical style and the professionalism with which Mihai shares his photo experience as a way of knowledge and artistic expression.

Not a minute of this photography workshop was lost, I didn’t have a moment to get bored or to think about what to do next. I spent time of a rare quality. Mr. Moiceanu is a man who truly loves not only nature, but also people, showing a lot of  empathy with our subjects! I learned in 2 days as much as I did not learn in a year.

Starting with 2007 he leads phototours in Romania - Transylvania, Maramures, Bucovina, Danube Delta, Carpathian Mountains. He leads both groups of Romanian photographers and photographers from all over the world interested in knowing Romania and its most spectacular and photogenic areas.

I found the opportunity to photograph in Romania full of experiences that seemed truly unique; thoroughly memorable. Even better was the expert guidance provided by Mihai Moiceanu. “… why should you go to Romania? The straight answer is because it is one of the most beautiful countries of Southeast Europe.” (The Blue Guide) Yes Romania: “Mi-ai intrat in suflet” = You entered my soul!.
— Emily Wilson - Seatle.

Since 2007 he organizes and leads PhotoTOURs worldwide: Himalayas, Patagonia, Tibet, Dolomites, Chamonix - Mont Blanc, Zermatt - Matterhorn, Vietnam, Nepal, USA, Alaska, Peru, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, France. The desire to know the world is shared with those who go with him in the most iconic photographic destinations around the world.

Anapurna Trek

A high-altitude photo trip with Mihai. If I had only one word to choose from to say about Mihai, it would be grace. Mihai has grace, there is something of a teacher in him, that something that transmits with kindness and  gentleness.
— Catalin Savulescu - Bucharest

Over the years he has had personal and group exhibitions opened in the big cities in the country - Brasov, Cluj, Sibiu, Tg. Mures, Iasi, Bucharest, Craiova, but also in Europe in Berlin, Munich, Barcelona, Limassol, Toulouse, Gallway, Rome, Rabat, Cork, Nicosia.

In the recent years, Mihai has a comeback in cinematography producing and directing a series of movies about Eco-Tourism in Romania, as well as other short productions about Nature.

Mihai Moiceanu is a brilliant presence in the gallery of the great professional photographers from Romania by his way of expressing, by the approached subjects, but especially by his great generosity of bounding people and places to light.
