Four of the south-west states of USA are meeting in one place, Four Corners - Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah. Around this point there are one of the most beautiful National Parks of USA, in the desert area. As a landscape photographer you can say this is the Heaven on Earth.
Three words can describe Patagonia: Wind, Earth and Ice. Everything is "the best" possible on the Earth. The Winds are so powerful that can take water from the lakes and transform it in rain, or turn the veil of a cascade upside down. The Earth reveals all the structure in colours and shapes you can barely imagine. The pure blue of the glaciers are almost transparent against the light.
The „Roof of the World“ is the most commonly used metaphor when it comes to Tibet. If I had to add other epithets then distant, strange, harsh, would be some of them. It is the ideal recipe for photographers who are looking for landscape, monasteries and Buddhist religion as main subjects. The Tibetan experience transforms you and pushes you to a deeper reflection on life and religion.
If you visit the Chamonix Mont Blanc area, you will understand why mountaineering and many other mountain-related sports were born here. But also, here, you have a natural exhibition of high mountains, glaciers, peaks, walls, lakes, and all those ingredients that make a landscape photo a remarkable one. Climbers give the sense of the grandeur of these mountains so you can learn how big they really are. Welcome to the “alpine” world!
When the earth's depths are exposed to the weather during geological eras, a truly strange landscape is born. In the volcanic tuff shaped by water and wind, 2000 years ago begins the epic of underground Christian cities, as twisted as the relief on the surface. Geology toghether with history are exposed to the photographer's eye and all you have to do is finding the right spot and the right time to press the shutter.
There are several places on Earth that can be called the Shangri-la of photographers. One of them is Alaska. I wanted to photograph the grizzly bears fishing in glacial rivers or lakes as much as I wanted to see the place where Ansel Adams took one of the most iconic photo of the Denali Mountains: The Wonder Lake. This photo has trigger a wave of enthusiasm in knowing and protecting nature not only in the United States but all around the world.
